What would be the operational score for being able to store metadata (such as fulfilment ID's etc), so we can always have the information that originally came with the order/consignment. There are a few benefits
Be able to access ID's in the event a sales order was changed
We could use it to be able to fulfil BOM line items
We could also use this i/o filling up custom fields with data that is of no use to a human user.
