When receiving a pallet, there are times where the pallet weight needs to be recorded and handled independently. This can be partially handled by POP custom fields but quickly breaks when there are multiple POP variations in one pallet.
Example - 1 pallet has an inbound weight of 1000 lb. It has 2 inventory lines on it, but we do not know the weight of these individual lines, only the overall pallet weight. There is no place to store the overall pallet weight, and storing 1000lbs on the POP level does not make sense.
