We have scenarios where a single ad hoc charge can be applied to several entities. Instead of recreating the ad hoc charge for each entity, we'd like to set up one ad hoc charge and assign it to the associated entities.
It may still be charged differently at the customer / entity level, but it saves time having to recreate and manage it each time it changes. We maintain a very standard set of ad hoc charges across our entities and customers, and the only thing that changes is the rate.
This would also tie back to the idea around bulk importing of adhgoc charges:

Yes, having a facility to export and import at a rate card (customer) level would also work for this.
Hi Simon. This would break a few things, particularly with Adhoc Charges on Pack Screen which we are currently working on, as you'll be able to scan a barcode and i'll apply, but if these are shared by Sale Order + Consignment it won't know where to apply.
I suspect the better thing here would be to allow you to more easily import/export/clone existing adhoc charges.
