Background: We have customers where serial capture is required on outbound AND multiple scannable barcodes exist on product outers. Floor teams are fairly regularly scanning the incorrect barcode into the serial field. E.g. Product has scannable fields of
Product Code
Serial
Mac ID
Manufacturer batch / Lot
Team accidentally scan the mac ID. System allows this as the MAC ID is a unique number. Problem is goods are usually out the door before the issue is found.
The serial is used for retail/in country warrantee commencement so the accuracy is super important.
In most cases suppliers follow a specific format for serial numbers. Unfortunately, the primary customer impacted has many suppliers and many differing formats.
Request:
We would like an additional field added to the product master for storing the barcode mask / regex (not a custom field as there are no free custom fields for this particular customer).
This field should be exposed to Parsers so customers can send/update the mask.Options added to the Customer/Barcode screen
Use Regex from Product Master (Being the above created field)
If Product Master Regex is Blank - Use customer level barcode regex (being regex entered in Customer/Barcode screen)As a huge pretty please - can access to the barcode screen AND product fields (not just this field) be added to UAC when released. Most people in the org don't even know what REGEX is and we could easily break production as a result of people 'playing'.

Fairly sure you can do this via bolts.
Use a product custom field to store the regex, whenever the POP changes validate it against that and throw an exception in the bolt. I think we've implemented similar things for people in the past.
