Your Ideas on improving CartonCloud

Prioritise strict FEFO/expiry date stock allocation across all locations, overriding pick face and replenishment settings to prevent expiry claims.

We need CartonCloud to support a "Strict FEFO Over Location" mode. Currently, the system prioritises Pick Face locations over older Best Before Dates (BBD) sitting in bulk storage. We want the WMS allocation logic to respect strict expiry dates across all location types, even when replenishment is enabled.

Specifically, the system should support the following logic:

  1. If the stock sitting in a Pick Face is newer than stock sitting in bulk (or other) storage, the Sales Order allocation should bypass the Pick Face and direct the picker to retrieve the older stock directly from its bulk location.

  2. Alternatively, the system should automatically trigger a replenishment task from bulk to the Pick Face the moment a Sales Order is placed and older stock is detected in bulk.

  3. If a new inbound shipment arrives with an older BBD than what is already sitting in the Pick Face, the system should flag the Pick Face for a physical stock swap or block sales allocations until the older stock is integrated correctly.

FMCG clients who face strict supermarket compliance rules regarding minimum shelf-life upon delivery. Any handling short shelf-life products (like dairy, meat, fresh food,) that relies on pick faces for efficiency but cannot compromise on product rotation.

It completely eliminates costly product expiry claims and stock write-offs caused by the system allocating newer stock over older stock. It also removes the reliance on manual warehouse checks and physical double-handling, ensuring system-driven compliance with food safety and rotation standards.
