Currently users enter the id manually and often incorrectly.
The ability to scan containers for inbound and outbound orders into Carton Cloud would eliminate the need to regex-extract container IDs [A-Z]{3}U[0-9]{7} ourselves.
Making it available on the charges report to audit "was this a container order? was the container charged for this order"? Sometimes can get missed, with great impact to revenue.
Hi Vincent,
Please see the reply posted earlier today.

Hi Vincent,
We currently enter Container IDs manually into Custom Fields and use regex to extract them so we can compare them against invoices received from external container crew agencies.
A common issue is that the Container IDs on the invoices do not always match the IDs entered in CartonCloud. When this happens, we have to manually review container crew timesheets to find a matching ID. In many cases, the handwriting on the timesheets is difficult to read, requiring our Warehouse Manager to investigate and confirm the correct Container ID. This process can take hours or even days, and sometimes we are unable to identify the correct order, meaning the charge cannot be validated or allocated correctly.
If the Custom Field supported scan-only input, it would significantly reduce human error. The field would contain only the Container ID, preventing users from entering additional text, dates, or notes and removing the need for regex extraction.
We rely on container crew agency invoices as the source of Container IDs, which we then use to identify the related SO/PO numbers and verify whether container charges have been applied correctly in CartonCloud, or applied at all.
Hi Olivera.
Where are you trying to do this? From the mobile app?
Are you wanting this to go into a PO Custom Field?
