Your Ideas on improving CartonCloud

Photo Feature for Purchases When Warehouse Physically Receives

when warehouse receives inbound orders, containers, pallets or cartons. Photos are critical as is attached paperwork. All this should be scannable and uploadable from mobile app as it is with POD at delivery point of sale orders.

    Hi everyone.

Today this feature has been released to several customers who are part of our Beta group. Based on their feedback, we anticipate releasing this to everyone next week.

Hi Andrew. It's a good suggestion and certainly something we can trial going forward. With regards to why this hasn't been implemented sooner, the key reason has been that our customers have workarounds for it (ie: WhatsApp groups etc). We know these workarounds are not ideal, but given the amount of effort associated with this project is relatively high, it was regarded as lower priority than things that cannot be worked around (ie: inability to charge a certain way, pallet handling etc). Additionally, with the release of Picking 2.0 we're now using a cross-platform development language for our mobile apps (Flutter), which has enabled us to reduce the effort associated with many mobile projects by about 40% as we can just built it once and it works on both iOS and Android.

The update is greatly appreciated. Thank you. However, It is long overdue. I want to take this moment to share an observation. This is currently the top-rated request on this platform. Was created over 5 years ago. What's the hold up been because that's a long time in commercial terms? Is it time to build? Cost? Funding? Perceived Value to CC/Users? I'd like to suggest something that I think could be interesting in this platform. My Suggestion - a tool to add how much we'd be willing to pay to fast-track this feature for 3-6mth deployment. That way if the absence of the request was causing enough pain for us to not want to wait 1, 3 or 5 years......How much would we be prepared to contribute? Admin could indicate dev cost. If the pool hits it gets funded and BOOM. WIN WIN!

We are working toward having this available for both Inbound (Purchase) and Outbound (Sale) orders in Q3.

At las, will be well worth the 5 yr wait. This step will remove the singnifcant amount of paper we are still having to handle with inbounds from pallet docks invoices and delviery dockets.

    Thanks for the update David,

Just to flag with you also I am sure it is the intention anyway but the ability to upload docs and images to the PO will be fantastic.

At the moment we need to ability to upload docs and a priority over photos.

Currently I scan up all Purchase Order manual check in docs to the TMS consignment that links to the PO, since the Purchase Order tabs dont have the ability to upload docs.

The change when it comes along will be very welcome in significantly reducing hardcopy document holdings, and for very fast document recall on query resolution requiring us to source back to original documents.

Just to update, we recognise the importance of this update for all our users. At this stage I do not have a timeframe I can commit to you, we are reviewing our roadmap continuously and will schedule it in at the earliest point we can.

Thanks for all the interest in this feature. As we have worked through the requirements to support this feature there are some background improvements we need to make first. Once these have been addressed then adding this capability will be a lot easier. We have moved this back to Planning to Implement and will update you when we are in a position to schedule this in.

A receival app where we can take photos, get truck drivers names and rego would be highly invaluable to logistics company. If it were set up like the delivery app where deliveries could be saved next to purchase orders would benefit my clients greatly, especially when damage stock arrives on the truck which is recorded in real time real time.
